As I was walking between buildings on our farm, I noticed an object approaching at treetop height making no sound at all. At first I thought it was a military jet. yet it made no sound and moved very slowly. The shape was a Tubular with Camo Brown/green there were markings I could not read, the nose had an orange stripe around it. There was a canopy similar to an F86, I saw the pilot who was wearing what looked like an oxygen tupe face mask and helmet all in a very dark brown. As it approached, I waived to the occupant who looked at me, then pulled the nose up and it streaked up with flames coming out of the rear, and then it made a wooshing sound. As it reached altitude (probably 10,000 feet) it leveled out and streaked south previously it had been heading West. Again flames were shooting out of the tail in a bright orange. it disappeared. My brother who was a few feet away heard nothing, the boy at the neighboring farm saw it because it went over his farm first. It was not until I got into the Navy that I realized that aircraft, cannot fly that slow, were not painted in those colors, could not climb that fast, or accelerate that quickly.
